Okay..... Last week, I happened to witness one of the most interesting probates at HU. Im sure some of the APhiQ has already discussed this, but i talked about it to them. but I had to comment on this because I was completely taken aback by this organization. I wonder if anyone else saw this probate and felt the same way that I did. First of all, there were flyers for this organization's probate, in red and white. Then it appeared as if they were advertising that there were 19 new members, but there was a 0 as the ace of this line, which is unheard of. The numbers were outlined in Red and White triangles or "pyramids." The actual probate was the WORST probate that I had ever seen. First of all, the line had NO unity what so ever. They didn't have on the same clothes. Their jeans and shirts were different shades of red and blue. ONE OF THEM EVEN HAD ON A BROWN SUIT!!! (she had just left Golden Key induction) Some of the more interesting things about the organization were:  Hand sign----Their hand sign resembled Lady Fortitude. and in case anyone didn't know, it is the statue of Delta Sigma Theta. Calls---- Their call sounded like Skee-Ooop, but after further research, I found out that it is actually Weeee-Ooop. It kinda resembled Delta Sigma Theta if u ask me, but hey. If anyone else wants to comment, feel free to post. if you care to see pics....visit these sites. http://www.geocities.com/ahgsshu/entrance.html http://public.fotki.com/tunicia/

wow yall are getting kinda serious. well i think ole boy should be able to say whatever he wants. if he thinks yall look like the ladies of delta sigma theta he can say that. and you can also call him ignorant for saying that. and if yall were so eager to explain things about yall organization why did yall come in with so much anger. thats not going to want people to understand more. i didnt see the show so i dont know if it was good or not but congrats to the ones who made it.

thanks for the congrats. we aren't saying that he can't say what he wants, we are just trying to help people understand who we are since we are new to Howard's campus (or this generation since Gamma Sigma Sigma has actually been at Howard since the 1960s, we went inactive in 1982). That's all, we are not trying to demean anyone or put anyone down. If you want to learn more please attend our informational that will be held in January. again, thanks for the congrats. Tunicia Walker (~via theTRUTH, one of my friends) P.S.-The reason my line sisters may have came in with so much anger is because we have been getting messages like the above that were less than just freedom of speech, they were more like disrespect.)

I feel u, but in full honesy, I can also understand where they are coming from. That's like someone insulting your family. More than likely, you aren't going to brush it off like it's nothing. These girls have gone through a lot for that organization. If i was in their shoes, I probably would have come off much worse

NO, it is not a band sorority. Some of the members that just crossed on this line happened to be in Tau Beta Sigma, National Honorary Band Sorority. Gamma Sigma Sigma is a national service sorority. They are the sorors of APhiQ. I didn't think that their probate was all that bad either. Their colors are maroon and white as opposed to red and white. Personally, I don't see any similarities with Delta Sigma Theta. Gamma Sigma Sigma has their OWN call, OWN hand sign, OWN tradition, and their OWN goals and purposes.
They ARE NOT the sorors of AphiQ........not at all...we do not recognize them as sorors here on Howard's campus!! Not formally.

Are the Delta's and Omega's constitutionally bound as bruhs and sorors? No. Not formally. I know y'all aren't actually BRUHS and SORORS formally, but some members of AphiQ claim them and GSS does the same the other way around. Holla at them.

key word= SOME...not all...none at Howard formally......some other schools do... Now omega and delta FORMALLY acknowledge they brother and sisterhood NATIONALLY, so there is no comparision of those orgs with ours, we do not acknowledge nationally....adn teh few schools that do acknowledge them are HBCU all male chapters of APO, but that neither here nor there...and I have "holla'd" at them...
