For those of you who loved Flyy Girl your gonna be happy to learn that Omar Tyree's new novel is continuing her life in the third chapter of this series, what do ya'll think? here is the synopsis:
When we first met Tracy Ellison in Omar Tyree's breakthrough novel Flyy Girl, she was still a fun-loving 'round-the-way girl coming up on the streets of Philly. Stardom beckoned in For the Love of Money, which chronicled Tracy's struggles with the pressures of power and celebrity. Now, Tyree checks in on everybody's favorite flyy girl and finds her a little bit older, a whole lot wiser, and just as sassy as ever. Immersing readers in the dazzling world of Hollywood's A-list players, Boss Lady is Omar Tyree's most entertaining novel to date. Told from the point of view of Tracy's personal assistant and cousin, Vanessa. Boss Lady chronicles the trials and tribulations of adapting the story of Tracy Ellison's life. In this novel, Flyy Girl is becoming a major motion picture and Tracy is prepared to do anything and everything to tell her story, and to make sure it's done right. Stepping in and taking charge of it all, from screenwriting and directing to executive producing and designing, Tracy quickly finds herself more than a little overextended. In the meantime, she's also juggling the highs and lows of her famously turbulent love life. Is it better to remain single and committed to her career? Or is she ready to take the plunge and embrace the married-with-children life? Shot through with Omar Tyree's irresistible urban style, Boss Lady finds the author's best-loved character at the top of her game, thoroughly in charge, and taking life strictly on her own terms.
I think i was the only one who enjoyed For The Love of Money....i mean...it wasn't as good as FLYY Girl...but...i still thought it was really good...it just took longer to get wrapped up into it....i might check this book out tho...
THE LAST BOOK I READ OF OMAR TYREES WAS DIARY OF A GROUPIE AND IT WAS BOGUS. I AGREE I THINK MAYBE HE IS LOOSEN HIS TOUCH, CUS THUS FAR FLY GIRL IS THE BEST BOOK IVE READ THAT HE HAS WRITTEN.
yea my sister thinks that a ghostwriter actually wrote Flyy Girl because it was his only good book, don't get me wrong I liked Sweet St. Louis, Single Mom, and Just Say No but compared to Flyy Girl, those other books are mediocre.
i think tyree is done period, to be honest. he a coo writer but he's getting blown away by some newer cats in his genre. i wouldn't buy it and i would hesitate to read it if someone else had it.
I have to agree. I mean, I couldn't even get past chapter one of For the Love of Money at all. The pace was too slow for my liking, but I figure maybe I'll try to read it again...who knows? I think he should've stopped at the first book.
dang I thought I was the only person who thought it sucked. I loved Flyy Girl. It was the first book like that that I had ever read. I read it when I was like 15 and when me and my boyfriend started dating, for my 16th birthday he bought me For the Love of Money cause I was like I wanna read it and when I got it I read it and it was crappy! I was so shocked. I cant even get to the 2nd chapter. If yall wanna read a good book, read The Coldest Winter Ever. That book is SICK!
