I need to know if we should go ahead and launch a video chat room for everyone on the site to use? The chat room is definitely hot, because it will have the ability to automatically pick up your HBCU Connect member profile (and picture) so you can just login to it without having to create a new account to gain access...
Also, the chat room has not only real time text chat, but it also has LIVE AUDIO & VIDEO, so you can see and hear other people on here who have a web cam or audio set up.
Here is the only thing that is holding us back from launching it just yet... It is really expensive to host a hot video chat room, so we want to know if this is something that would be worth paying for ? I guess we can always launch it and find out, but depending on the response we get, we might have to buy several machines to host all of the users that may want to simultaneously chat...
I'm thinking, if cats would pay $10.00 to go to the club and kick it, holla at a few chics/dudes then if we made the chat like $9.99 for you to have access for a full month, it might be worth it...

Ditto. I think its a good idea and all but like others have said...n*ggas are cheap so they not going to pay for it..ESPECIALLY when yahoo is available for free. Maybe that money that would be used to get the audio/video chatroom started can be used elsewhere to make the site better. :wink:
[i]I don't think that you should launch it if you have to pay for it as a college student I know for a fact that money is scarces.You have to pay for everything. So can we get something for free?:twisted:
Just remember, people said the same thing about ebay, match.com, etc.
I'm starting to think we'll make it free as long as we can afford to do so, and then play it by ear. But I still want to hear back from as many people as possible... I'll probably also remove the option for "No we don't need a chat room" since the people who don't like chat rooms don't have to use it. :roll:
The club scene is very different from viewing folks from another area... I don't even pay $10 a month for my web access so why would i pay 10 foe a video chat room. I think yall should gone ahead and come up with something better than that and for free.
