April 1st has come and gone and still no reply???? Is this normal??? All my other schools have already sent me letters and even a financial aid packet! My cousin who attends Howard said that she got her letter in early may/late april!!! :o I just wanted to see who was in the same boat as me because i feel kind of lost/fustrated.

Howard doesn't have the best administration as well as many other HBCUs(esp. hampton u.), but when I applied 2 years ago it was almost May and I hadn't heard anything but I just called the Admissions office and she was able to tell me in about 2 mins that I was accepted, I got my packet and letters like a week later never did get in housing info though...but anyway, I would call and make sure you have your ID number if you know it or just you social. Good LUCK!!!

Whew I'm glad to see that I'm not alone on the waiting list. But I think the hold up is from my other college :-(

Just a word of advice to all the people waiting for replies to Howard. BE PATIENT. I was in the same position as a lot of you. My brother and I applied to Howard with identical ACT scores and 1 and 2 in our high school class respectively, but I still didn't receive any notification in the mail regarding my acceptance until I called them in late April of my senior year. They told me over the phone and I received my acceptance and scholarship letter about a week later. If pushed to work, the administration at Howard will work. What they have is a bunch of people that have gotten comfortable in their soft chairs. Personally, I've met most of the people in admissions and they are very nice. There just aren't enough people happy with what they earn to work all that hard.
