I want to know... *Did you find it hard to get along with your room mate? *What is one thing that you feel is necessary to have while away from home? * Do you feel its a big difference between High school a college? and if so in what ways?
1. i was friends w/ my roommate since 9th grade... so it was very easy to get along w/ him... i think in most cases males are more cooler being roommates, than two females... i've known many females who were friends in HS, but became enemies while being roommates for 9 months, and then being friends again... but i think if you keep the communication lines open, you will be fine... communication with your roommate is a key!!!! 2. always have a computer... your life will revolve around a computer... doing papers, and projects, and web assignments... you don't want to make trips to the school library every night.... and an adequate supply of cleaning items for your room, and hygienal products as well...you wanna keep the room presentable (at least on your side) for company and when parents drop to visit 3. college and high school are two different ballgames in terms of academics... some professors will just leave you hanging, and others are willing to work with you... but if you don't communicate w/ your professor, you won't be able to get a higher grade... always show up for class, and you may get lucky and get a professor who will give you a higher grade, just for attending class... they basically are saying "it's your money, either prove your worth by showing up, or waste it by being absent"... the social setting is somewhat the same... but like Tippy said, it's all about who you surround yourself with... just be yourself in both the academic and social setting, and you'll be fine

do yall have problems with old friends becoming stuck up or what not??? -AND- my brother's friend be bugging him for food and lunch money all the time. do yall have any problems with friends asking and wanting to much from you?? ::sits back and waits for answer::
not really... but the bond w/ your old friends will be slightly strained due to the fact that you've seen them from 2-4 (maybe even longer) years, and the fact in college that you get to meet new people is a lot more enticing then seeing the same people... and you will get wrapped up in the life of college that sometimes you forget about your friends back home...if they your true friends, they won't change on you, no matter how long it's been since you've seen them or what not i don't have a problem with that... most of the people i hang around with have their own money... but if they ask once in a while, and if i have it, i'll be happy to help them out... but if it's constantly like that... i'd start watching them... they the ones that'll sneak up on you and turn their back on you in a second... gotta protect ya neck...

At first I was kinda happy being away from home. But then again after you get that taste with freedom. You kinda start missin home like me. Sometimes you'll be waiting to go home during the school year....
