a guy friend of mine who goes 2 A&T & now lives in Greensboro, NC....& grew up in different places throughout the U.S., due 2 his father being in the military....tells me that his fav. place 2 live so far was Michigan...because in so many words, he said that the Black people down here r rather "narrow-" or "close-minded" when it comes to certain things... & the example he used was that he is very adventurous...and participates in sports that are considered non-typical of many Blacks....like rock-climbing...sky-diving...skateboarding....skiing...etc. etc. etc... and he says when he tells his friends & peers down here about those types of things...they respond with something to the extent of "pssh, Black people don't do that" lol...& he says he hates that... well my question is, what are some things that you all do (or say) that are "stereotypical" of another race? and what are some things you DON'T do (or say) that are "stereotypical" of Blacks?

Nah. You're supposed to be saying what you do that is like a stereotype of another race, and what you don't do that is the stereotype of your own race. Some folks were just writing plain old stereotypes. Lol.

I think he meant her question about things they personally do that are associated with stereotypes of other races and things that they don't do that are associated with black stereotypes.

oh ok...I got you... Well my own personal stereotype which is very " white " of me and my friends tell me all the time...but Im curious to learn how to surf, which is sumthin u never see black people doin.

I speak in Standard English. I wear my pants at my waist. I don't have any kids. I don't drink or smoke weed. I like movies with a predominately white cast. I don't have rims. I don't have bling bling. I don't watch BET. I've never wanted to be with a white woman. I played soccer. I took piano lessons. I don't have a criminal record.

I'm like a stereotypical black male cuz: I have braids I walk wit a "bop" I speak in ebonics around my friends I think chicken is the best food on earth I play basketball I have rhythm I love music I'm not like the stereotypical black male cuz: Most people with braids aren't thought of as smart, but I am really smart I don't like chicken fingers I don't eat eggs I don't have family reunions

Well.....I like european soccer and i would like to shop at American Eagle and Aeropostale......................I guess black people dont do that too much oh, and i dont like church or greens which is common in the black community....oh and i dont perticuarly care for the NBA ....just the 76.

black Stereoptypes that don't apply to me... I CANNOT dance. I just don't have any coordination at all. But at the same time if I'm around all white people I'm a star and I would have mad skills at dancin to their standards.
