Okay, I have always wanted to ask this question about greek life in general. The question is, what is your overall perspective of greek life, was or is it worth your time and effort now that you have pledged an organization? Are we as BGLO's making a difference or are we just flowing with the tide? Let me hear your opinion or opinions on that.
Non greeks feel free to give your opinions as well...

I think that there is a duality of BGLO life: the undergraduate years of "pledging" (or MIP to be politically correct), stepshows, partying, calls, jackets, sitting on plots, taking pictures, etc. which does include some community service. However, you can't expect XYZ or ABC to be at EVERY SINGLE community service event, homeless shelter, **** walk etc, because they are STILL UNDERGRADS! They came to college to get a degree, NOT JUST to be apart of the BGLO that they joined. They have to balance greek life with academics, church, etc. Then there's the alumni life, after you've educated yourself, you spend more time working in the community, giving money (because you're salaried and have insurance lol), and being more visible because you have more TIME and RESOURCES. You still can party and wear your letters, but it isn't your goal anymore. You aim to serve and embody what your founders envisioned the org to be. I think we as GDIs need to give Greeks some slack (when they are on the ball)...we expect them to be superheros as soon as they cross and we forget that they are students just like us.... Think about it.
