^Yeah, the issue is this Black woman isn't getting as much media coverage as would a white chick. And the other issue being is it media bias or are we just crazy.

I've seen it advertised on CNN and other news channels, it started like a day or two after she went missing.

I heard about this on the radio this morning. I don't think it's about the fact that someone is missing... generally, if someone goes missing who knew the right people and has the right image, it suddenly becomes important. Funny thing is, when the whole Natalee Holloway thing came out, I thought, big deal. Not that I don't feel for her family or think that she deserved whatever happened. I did think, however, what's so special about this case when there are thousands of missing persons throughout the country? It's interesting to watch how people's priorities suddenly change when the world is watching. Holla!

^Yea, that's the point exactly. What makes the highly publicized cases more important than cases such as Ms. Figueroa's. She might have got a "shout out" on the news, but why isn't she all over CNN, Entertainment Tonight, and other major newsbroadcasts.

Like Thomas Hobbes said. No one cares. Deep down, the majority of us don't care. We are just scapegoating her for equality on T.V., which we feel is a strike back at the pale face. Hide behind the fact all you want, but it's true.

UPDATE: Incarcerated rapper Beanie Sigel recently donated money to boost the reward for information leading to the discovery of a missing Philadelphia woman. Philadelphia authorities recently revealed that the reward was upped from $10,000 to $100,000. Police are looking for Latoyia Figueroa, 25, a black woman who is five months pregnant and has been missing since July 18th. Reports say she vanished after a doctor's appointment. Figueroa also has a 7-year-old daughter. Close friends of Figueroa told the authorities the **** would not willingly leave her child.

That statement was so idiotic. I care cause I know if it were my sister, cousin, or friend, I would want people talking about it and I would want it on the news worldwide if it could. Don't tell people what they do or don't care about.
