Oh my god. (speechless). what in the world is this new york chick doing going to the dirrty south! no offense, i respect the artist, but I CAN'T STAND SOUTHERN MUSIC! I'm nyc born and raised, Jay-z , Biggie, Fat joe, mary J, lil' kim ..... and SLIM ****? I just can't see it! I went to baltimore, maryland for spring break(that's not even that far south!) and they played this stuff they call "CLUB" music. club music in NY in general usually refers to white people , rave party stuff so i was skeptical. boy was i wrong. in b-more club music is crunk music on speed! "put em' put em' put em' put em' put em' ho put em put em ho ho ho ho ho ho ho ho put em ho!!!" what the hell is that? Am I gonna have to hide Reasonable Doubt, Ready to Die, and My Life in a hole behind my FAMU apartment are does the south show mad love for da east coast? Just wanna kno cuz we damn sure don't be showing enough love to the dirrty south!lol!

i'ma need for you to broaden your horizons... it's not even that serious... a lot of music will be played everywhere, different varieties... like the latest stuff from down south won't hit up north for a while (ex. they played T.I's "U Don't Know Me" during Spring Break, sayin it was new, and the joint was out since December) and vice-versa... if you can't show any love to the south (or at least fake it) best thing to do is keep ya mouth shut... or else you'll get stomped...

...if you coming to FAM and hate southern music that much I suggest you stay in the house cause thats ALL you gonna hear in the streets, radios, and clubs. i wasnt into down south rap that much til I came to FAM...I really dont like their underground sh*t..its garbage to me...but I do like the commerical stuff. Just keep and open mind and have fun. Its just music...Youll be aight. BTW...im from connecticut...so I can empathize with you. Everything is gonna be a culture shock..but as long as you keep an open mid its all good.

For some reason, it seems like a lotta NY people don't like much music that's not from NY, and it's been like that forever. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the fact that rap started there. I have come to accept the fact that you can't make people like music they don't like, and I know that musical taste is acquired so where you grow up will definitely be a highly decisive factor in what kind of music you like. However, the only problem I see is when people from whatever region discriminate on music SOLELY because of where it comes from, and don't even give it a chance because it's not from their hometown or region.

P. Diddy is from New York, so he has great lyrical talent.
