Hampton simply executed as they did against Jackson State by keeping the game close and playing until the last minute. Howard began the game by scoring twice in the first quarter. Their defense was dominant and their offense was hard to stop. This let up as the game went on and hampton scored it's first touchdown in the second quarter making the game 12-7.
The second half was simply bad football. Hampton continued it's inconsistent offense while Howard, somehow, found a gun to shoot themselves in the foot over....and over....and over....and over....yes, and over again. Their offense became inconsistent, it seems as if their special teams gave up more yardage than their defense, and while on that subject, did the long snapper grease up his gloves up before the game or something?
Howard made vital mistakes and Hampton certainly took advantage of those mistakes, particularly the interception, which was returned for a touchdown, thrown by senior quarterback, Donald Venters. It seems as if Howard laid down for the lost as they punted the ball with under 5 minutes left in the game. Every one of Hamptons units put points on the board, but when it all comes down to it......they STILL have no curfew.
