Tell me what is really going on. I mean I am thouroughly confused... And just when I thought I knew who claimed who... They dropped the **** on me... Fire And Ice... This is a group for those Ice Cold Brothers of A Phi A and those Devastating Divas of DST...Phi-Oop!!! This was taken from an email I received: This story is about the mystical "SPHINX" that watched over the "PYRAMIDS". Let me explain. (PHI-OOP) is a call that has developed over the past couple of years to show the bond between Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.& Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. It has been stated jokingly of course, that "DELTA" actually means (Divas Everywhere Love The Alphas). And yes my dear brothers, another three of the Delta founders were "Sweethearts of A-Phi-A" and later became the wives of our dear brothers. Delta Founder Osceola Macarthy, who became one of the first African-American women to perform on Broadway dated and married Beta Chapter initiate Numa P.G. Adams, a member of the Howard Class of 1911. Brother Adams, a chemistry professor became the first African-American dean of the Howard University Medical School. Another Delta Founder who married an Alpha was Miss Vashti Turley. She married Brother Carl Murphy, also a graduate of Howard and Harvard Universitys and an instructor of German at Howard and later editor and publisher of his fathers paper(The Baltimore Afro-American). The Murphys had five children(all daughters, all Deltas). Their grand-daughter is Reverened Vashti Murphy McKenzie, a prominent pastor and National Chaplain for Delta Sigma Theta as well a candidate for the Episcopacy of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Finally, Delta Founder Naomi Sewell married Alpha Man Clarence Richardson. Sewell taught high school in Princeton, New Jersey where she was good friends with Alpha Brother Paul Robeson, who was attending Rutgers at the time. On weekends they would have singalongs. Now there are also groups called Coleman Love (Deltas and Omegas) and Crimson and Creme(Deltas and Kappas), so which one is it....And on the Coleman Love they say everybody else is CAT. So really who is CAT. There are calls for everybody Phi Oop, Yo-oop, and Well we all know how the Omegas and DEltas act so I would like to know what's really good. And they wonder why we are so proud??????????

Calling each other Bruh and Soror huh? That's a new one. I really don't understand why there is so much significance on this. Anywho, like it has been previously stated, it depends where you go. Coleman Love is pretty much recognized everywhere but hell, if my chapter wants to throw a party and call it Fire and Ice, Crimson and Kream, or whatever its just what it is. This happens with every org just about. I saw something at a surrounding college talking about A Pretty Party: Diamonds and Pearls. Here the Sigmas want to throw a party with us. People have their preference and people will be people. Its really not that big of a deal.

The only "true" bond is Zeta Phi Beta Sigma.
The only "constitutional" bond...
Same difference if you ask me.

Seriously, there are real reasons why the AKAs and the Alphas are informally bound, same as Delta and Que, and Kappa and SGRho.
how are they informally bound?

I alway thought this Fire and Ice connection was very silly and arbitrary. If the three Delta founders who married Alphas later divorced them, would the connection cease to exist? Seriously, there are real reasons why the AKAs and the Alphas are informally bound, same as Delta and Que, and Kappa and SGRho. There are some campuses where different groups are close for different reasons that can really boil down to something simplistic like alot of the currents member's prophytes were from the same town and knew each other before they became Greek. Seriously, it's usually not that deep.
Once again refer to a copy of " In Search of Sisterhood" and find out how the omegas and delta are bonded...

These Zetas and Sigmas put too much emphasis on a piece of paper--dont nobody give a fcuk if yall are constitutionally bound...might as well be cuz aint no other org. prolly gonna claim yall anyway. And why do you care about who the Delta's bond with??? Maybe you were once interested but didnt make the cut and then did plan B...Zeta Phi Beta.
