Were you in DC in the day time or the night time? Also, I personally think Bmore is somewhat on the ghetto side. I haven't been all over the place, but it's no pretty suburb. And Howard looks nice? Hmm...I've only been to the Howard area once...I didn't think it looked that hot. Maybe I need to walk in deeper or something.
And you're right, those steps down to the metro are too damn long sometimes.
