He has to take his rightful place as being the head of the household. We will not get married until he can prove that he can hold that position. I can live with the fact of earning more than him (before marriage)and being more educated than him. But only for a little while. I have children and him and I are the examples for them.

You dont have to be a rocket scientist but if you can't conversate with me on a higher level then i dont see the relationship lasting at all.
It's "converse" Sorry, but "conversate" irks me.

Main Entry: conversate Part of Speech: verb Definition: to socialize and chat; to converse with another Etymology: back-formation from conversation Usage: slang i was writing for content not grammar and apparently it exists in the dictionary so...yeah

I understood that but if you're looking to have someone to "conversate with you on a higher level", wouldn't you want your level to be up there too? I'm not saying there's nothing wrong with slang but if you're expecting better, you have to do better.

I don't mind earning more money than him. As long as he has a good job, it really does not matter, money is not everything (I don't want a deatbeat though lol). I also do not think he should be the 'head' of the family. A family is a family, everyone should be equal, no one should be above anyone.

i just watched "the family that preys" and i dont honestly think i can deal with the fact that i make a much more significant amount of money than my husband if he is working a low paying job that requires few skills because then i will start to resent my choice of marrying him, only if he is insecure and makes a big deal about it. I cant support a whole household and the lifestyle i want to attain by myself, but if we are both making good money then i see no problem with earning just a little bit more.
