im applying to like 7 schools, my dream school is spelman college, but financially and for the distance from home i might have to buckle down and go to dillard university. dillard ranks #9, i qualify for half tuition paid and it is home but i just got a special feeling when i toured spelman now

y didnt i think of this first.lols. A couple of questions. So what schools are you guys planning on applying to? Early action/decision? or regular admissions? if ur pretty sure, what do you want to major in? what are your career goals? p.s. is anyone in IB in this thread? well to answer my questions. I plan on applying early action, hopefully to most if not all the schools. In no particular oder i want to apply to Temple University, Spelman College, Fisk University, Tuskegee University, Hampton University, University of Florida, and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. my top choices would have to b Temple, Spelman, Hampton and Univ on NC at Chapel Hill. umm, i plan on majoring in Psychology and might major or minor in either anthropology, sociology or biology. i then plan on going to grad school to receive my MPH in Public Health and prob come back to DC and work For the government. it seems as if i have it all planned out but im quite confused at the same time...you know things can change at any moment.

^^im gonna apply for regular admissions. im soooo nervous about applying to spelman b/c i have an unweighted 3.2 gpa and an ACT score of 21 but im so involved in my school and community and im gonna run for class president and im very good at writing essays. so i dont know what to say about spelmans admissions office cuz it seems like they may give me a hard time . at my school they're starting this pharmacy technician class so i'll be taking that so when i graduate hs i'll have a job, well a career really. i want to obtain a dual degree in engineering from a hbcu and georgia tech (3 years at a hbcu and 2 at georgia tech. that way i'll earn my b.s. and m.s in 5 years!!! yay!!!) and work as a biomedical engineer and work on the development of pharmacutacals and artificial limbs i would have liked to minor in art/photography but i dont think i can do that and be a engineering minor! theres quite a few schools im gonna apply to: spelman , well of course lol dillard clark atlanta university of new orleans morris brown xavier of la georgia state howard hampton ...well thats all for now

wow...it seems as if you have everything planned out as well. hope everything works out for you. i believe i have like a 3.0 or a 3.1 unweighted GPA but im not sure that spelman or any of the schools im gonna apply for ask for the unweighted (unless its understood that thats what we record) ne who, i believe i have a 3.3 or a 3.4 weighted. i had a 1540 on my SAT...not good at all so i plan on taking it again in October..this time im going to study for it. i mean, grades dont always matter i believe i would have a good chance of getting in mostly because of my improvements throughout high school. i went from a 2.5 GPA freshman year to a 3.5 GPA sophomore year to a 4.0 GPA junior year. plus im in the IB program which shows that im challenging myself, i attend a college prep school, i have done over 270 hours of community work and ive participated in extracurricular activities tho i haven't taken part in any sports.

u plan on doing much better on my SAT also. yea, the essay's gotta b ****. like my mentor and advisers tell me that the essay is basically for them to get 2 know who u are as a person, ur character. like if u want to write about a tragic time in ur life try 2 relate that to how you have grown and or become a better person as a result.
