Yall have got to read this! From an Angry White Girl to Black Women this letter was written in response to an article in Sister 2 Sister: Read on............ Dear Jamie: (Sister 2 Sister) I'm sorry but I would like to challenge some of your Black male readers. I am a White female who is engaged to a Black male-good-looking, educated and loving. I just don't understand a lot of Black female's attitudes about our relationship. My man decided he wanted me because the pickings amongst Black women were slim to none. As he said they were either too fat, too loud, too mean, too argumentative, too needy, too materialistic or carrying too much excess baggage. Before I became engaged, whenever I went out I was constantly approached by Black men, willing to wine and dine me and give me the world. If Black women are so up in arms about us being with their men, why don't they look at themselves and make somechanges. I am tired of the dirty looks I get and snide remarks when we're out in public. I would like to hear from some Black men about why we are so appealing and coveted by them. Bryant Gumbel just left his wife of 26 years for one of us. Charles Barkley, Scottie Pippen, the model Tyson Beckford, Montell Williams, Quincy Jones, James Earl Jones, Harry Belafonte, Sydney Poitier, Kofi Anan, Cuba Gooding Jr., Don Cornelius,Berry Gordy, Billy Blanks, Larry Fishburne, Wesley Snipes...I could go on and on. But, right now, I'm a little angry and that is why I wrote this so hurriedly. Don't be mad with us White women because so many of your men want us. Get your acts together and learn from us and we may lead you to treat your men better. If I'm wrong, Black men, let me know. >>>> Disgusted White Girl, Somewhere in VA. *what i think*

I wont even bring myself to honor any stereotypes...not the ones she makes or the ones my own people generate. *leaves*

I don't believe that it's only a black women's problem, I believe it goes both ways. Black women demand a certain level of respect and some men want to be some what pampered so they run to white women. But that doesn't mean that white women are any better than blacks, chinese or whatever. It depends on the persons involved. :!:

yeah i read that before and i saw what the guy had to say in response to that. i was dying laughin when i read his "reasons" for dating white woman. it was funny. that lady was clearly out of place. that's why she stayed MIA or unnamed all that time. she had some nerve though. I love all the black women. strong and beautiful. got damn silly **** people these days. lol. one

Yes, I loved one...probably wouldve married her if it werent for some of the small things in our relationship that slowly became the pinnacle of our downfall. Distance n whatnot... Lemme defend myself, cuz I feel like rejustifying myself. I didnt love her because of her skin or because I thought she was easy or because she didnt argue with me or some stupid sh*t like that, because she was just as demanding as any other woman Ive let that close to me. I loved her because she brought out the best man in me and was my backbone when I had none. And I did the same for her. If ever anyone looked at me and said that I was a traitor to my kind because I dated a white girl I then asked them what it meant to be Black. Usually it ended up being something like "Staying true to your people" or something. Then I just say "And because I fell in love with someone white you think im not keepin it real or representin? Mmm, opinions ARE like *ssholes." I laid down my requirements a long time ago. I want me a woman, a REAL woman. Never said anything bout her skin.

But what people need to realize is that Black women have been through so much and have experienced things differently than white women. A White woman is not gonna know what a Black woman's been through. So we are going to react to certain situations different. We've always HAD to be strong so why is it gonna change.
