One of my friends got his **** kicked cause he went to school..became a nupe...and got his **** kicked by his father because his father is a Que... He siad his father beated him because he did not follow his footsteps. However he felt the Que organization wasn't for him.. As a result his father beat him for making his own decision... :? His father don't even want to support him is school anymore Is this logical??? Sorry if I disrespected anyone...but I think that is Ludacris.....Please give your opinion...

That is truly f'ed up. If I ever have a daughter and she wants to pledge something besides Delta, that's her choice. Granted, I won't pay her fees or even help her pay for it. But I wouldn't treat her like crap. She'd have a godmother who's a Zeta, some cousins and play aunts who are AKAs, and a play aunt that is S G Rho, so one of them can pay for it. lol. I'm only paying for DST.
Looking at this....is this not a milder form of the same thing. Ur saying out right... if my child goes anything other than DST i'm not paying for it. I could understand uf u said "if she wants it...WHATEVER it is... she has to pay for it. But u said anything BUT DST. Thats the same thing as dude's dad is doing to him in my eyes.
Beating someone and cutting them off financially is hardly comparable to me not financing a future daughter's quest for another org. It's not wrong to not finance her wanting to pledge something else. Me paying for my future daughter's initiation fees for Delta is one of the few perks of being a legacy.

Nah...two different things. I wouldn't pay for my son pledging anything other than Omega...however, he would not be disowned. Why fund something that you have no part of or want any part of? Doesn't make sense to me. He'll get my support in other ways but not financial, as far as pledging goes. I'll pay off tuition, the whole nine but I'm not writing a single check to Alpha, Kappa or whoever my son wants to get down with.
Thanks bruh. I didn't think I had it twisted. My checks have Delta Sigma Theta on them. What do I look like writing a Delta check for my daughter to pledge something else? lol. It ain't happening.

Dang right soror, its only one thing i will pay for. Both of my sisters want to pledge AKA. But if you know the 19 year old she is not the one to even pledge anything. And the 14 year old dont know nothin about nothin. I think they want to do just to go against my mother grain, but she told them it dont even matter. Do what you do but i aint paying for it. Get ya cousins to support ya. I still love ya though.

I think that as family you should support whatever your child decides, financially and emotionally. I agree with my soror on if it's not in your heart you really should not choose that org just because it's in the family. That is how so many organizations end up with T-shirt wearers instead of those working for the cause.

That is awful. How could you let your letters separate you and your child?
