Does true love still exist today??

I think it can but so many people use the word so freely. like my sister who was dating this guy and after a week he would say i love you and she would say it too, but she'd be like i know he doesn't love me. then why you say it? even though i know why he was saying it. i never say it unless i mean it.

Oooh gawd! :lol: That is a pet peeve of mine, people falling in "lust" but calling it "love" to save face :roll:

I would quote the whole post...but girl u know that was a lil lengthy. That's ok tho hun, cuz i was feelin it :wink: ! But that line really stuck out to me. Peeps actin like love fell off the face of the earth or sumthin. God is love, and God is still in control. He isn't going anywhere, so neither is love. But since peeps are seeking ROMANCE, instead of love (God), they're falling short of something that is much more powerful/meaningful.

^^*sadly shaking my head* ((babyface, why are folks so quick to give up on LOVE and give up on GOD... HE's only showing them something that they're too stubborn to see... Don't they know that GOD IS LOVE and that GOD only has their best interest at heart?)) I wish, hon, I wish folks could see these things. Folks are so adamant on having things go their way even if it aint GOD's way<--but there is NO OTHER WAY and until they see this, they will keep bumping their heads against a wall; and do they know that GOD is NEVER wrong? Only people can be wrong! A lot of times, people fail to see a blessing, what do they call it these days? A broken heart? Oh okay. Folks be so hung up on their hurt feelings and "Why did so and so do this to me" when it is all GODs way of saying: "he/she was never yours to begin with, yall were never even meant to be. Its not even a matter of sorting them out. I know there's some decent ones out there, and a whole lot that shatter all of my expectations after talking to them. Its not even hard to find them. Its the ones that actually want to be with someone else that actually appreciates them, or even someone to begin with that's hard to find...

^^^ :? What does religion have to do with LOVE? Just asking, I feel this was kind of directed towards me since I mentioned GOD. Again, GOD is LOVE. GOD is only religion if you want HIM to be :wink: That's a whole other issue. But again, you are so focused on how hurt your feelings are that you cannot see the blessing that HE has bestowed upon you. GOD sends each individual into our life to teach us something, even if the lesson hurts, it is still a lesson nonetheless. This girl was nothing but a waste of space in your life that GOD has freed up so when the time does come for you to meet your soulmate, you will not be fixated on what others have done to you in your past. In other words, GOD does away with the old to make room for the new :wink: You are frustrated now and that is understandable. But know that REAL LOVE is far from frustrating and aggravating. You say you came up in the church. Well pray for clarity. No disrespect, but this is between YOU and GOD now, not your church or what you have done for it. You say things are getting worse but what are you doing or NOT doing in your life that things are this way? I'm not trying to preach here or tell you how to live your life but you cannot expect for anyone to like or love you more than YOU. For those of us who have mastered this art of self-love, there is no such thing as a brokenheart :wink: Once you figure out the power of self-love then you are untouchable; in the end, everything will be alright.
