I believe an individual is entitled to choose any political party that fits them. I myself am a conservative, but not republican. The rising generation of today feels that slavery is gone, so why preach a civil rights message like our ancestors, when were greedy for money? We all know that republicans seem to be for the betterment of the rich folks, though most were white, that's our mindset now. We have traveled to the relm of make money for ourself, rather than make money for the community. The community that we try to support, won't support us! So why should I bend over backwards to carry their load, when I have no support system? So I'm not mad at those who turn repbulican that are black, but I am upset at republicans who come to the community only for profit. Conservatives are rising and becoming stronger as the years go by. It's already stated that we were first republicans before democrates. If I were a betting man, I would say within 7 years from now, we will have more blacks turning republican because most lobbists come from them. But as a preacher, I will try to liberate the people and move them to an objective that will benefit the both of us. Have the money stay in the community before we invest into something outside of us.

People can vote for whoever they want to, just stop arguing with me when i answer who i would vote for honestly. If a black person wants to vote republican, he/ she should feel free to do so without being put down for it.
Ladies and Gentlemen.......Aren't well all glad to be Americans? Being in a country where we are free to vote, exercise our faith and walk about freely? If that is the case, then why is that being African American and a Republican an anomoly!? I am a student at Hampton University and during the Presidential Campaign season, I experienced a great deal of animosity from students as well as some professors on our campus. As the season went on the animosity intensified. So one day I sat down and begin to ask myself, why is that African Americans resent Republicans so much? Then it hit me, a lot of us have been poorly educated on political parties. For many, its "if your black, your a democrat". However, that should not be the case. One should take the time out and educate themself on the issues and the party. Its a common misconception that Republicans are for the rich and Democrats are for the poor.
On the day of the Presidential Election, I walked around campus randomly polling people and asking who they voted for and why? I cannot say that I was suprised that nearly half of the people I polled did not vote and a great deal of them responded by stating they would vote for Kerry becasue ( Bush hates blacks, they are not rich, Bush is stupid, etc..). This is what makes African American voters look bad when they are unable to provide an intelligent answer to a question such as that which was asked. When I asked why is that they supported the democratic party, they only shook their shoulders in ignorance!
I could go on and on for days about the **** because I love it that much, however, the election is over, the votes have been counted and a President has been elected. I am a Republican and have no shame in letting others know. I am not just a Republican becasue of my parents financial situation, I DO THINK GOD FOR IT! But I have taken the time out to educate myself, read, study and get involved with politics to make a educated decision about my political affiliation.
I long to see the day when African Americans will STOP putting all their eggs in of the Democratic Party's basket and when there is a Republican President they walk around sad because he ignores their needs and concerns. Instead of trying to have all African Americans allign with the Democratic Party, why not have some Black Republicans and Independents so that way regardless of what political party is elected into office, your interest can always be represented.
I have more to say, but I will save it for a later post.
Be Blessed and a Blessing,
Milton
