R.KELLY GETS AN EYEFUL
October 30, 2004 -- R&B singer R.Kelly and two of his bodyguards were pepper-sprayed in the face last night during a concert at Madison Square Garden by someone in rapper Jay-Z's entourage — forcing Kelly to quit the concert and go to the hospital, Kelly's publicist said. Kelly had performed several songs with Jay-Z, but then suffered a meltdown during a solo when he abruptly stopped singing, claiming audience members were waving guns.
"I can't perform under these conditions," said Kelly, before storming off the stage around 9:30 p.m..
While security guards investigated the threat, Jay-Z's entourage grew increasingly annoyed at Kelly's antics.
A Jay-Z hanger-on identified as "Tata" — infuriated that the show had been delayed — walked up to Kelly and pepper-sprayed the singer and two of his bodyguards.
"Someone in Jay-Z's entourage sprayed him and two bodyguards," said Kelly publicist Allan Mayer. "I think he was upset because they had delayed the show."
Law enforcement sources said no guns were recovered.
Mayer added that Kelly was heading back onstage because he "wanted to perform, but some idiot decided to spray him."
Paramedics tended to Kelly and the two bodyguards before they were taken to St. Vincent's Hospital to get their eyes flushed out.
"I can't imagine Jay-Z had anything to do with this," Mayer said.
Jay-Z returned to the stage alone minutes later and promised audience members they would still get their money's worth.
"Give me a few minutes, I will put on a show for you guys," Jay-Z vowed.
He then recruited rappers Ja Rule, Usher, Foxy Brown and Mary J. Blige, who were sitting in the first few rows, to perform onstage with him.
The show went on, but Jay-Z said he doesn't know why Kelly claimed people were pointing guns at him.
"You can't get a gun inside Madison Square Garden," Jay-Z told Hot 97 FM radio. <<<

How do yall know he didn't see a gun? Were yall up there on stage with him? You mean to tell me that out of those hundreds of thousands of people in Madison Square garden, nan one person can sneak a gun up in there? Come on, security maybe tight, but they're human, they can't control every person. If R.Kelly felt his life was in danger, then I don't see nothing wrong with him walking off the stage, as long as they would've refunded my money. Talk about unprofessional, how they gonna just spray the man with Lemon Pepper, then call someone unprofessional? Yeah R. Kelly has issues, that's another story, but the man is taleneted, in my opinion even more so than Jay Z. He's a musician in all aspects of the word. Besides I don't think Jay Z is without blemish either, his isssues just aren't publicized.

Really though, how are yall goin to side with Jay? Is that just preference or do you actually think he is innocent in all this?
None of us were backstage with them, on stage with them, OR flyin around to these city's with them. Now 75 mil is a bit extreme, but when u take into consideration all the money he would lose not being on the tour...
This will probably affect R.Kelly's record sales a little bit, but probably not b/c the same people siding with Jay know that they will be bumpin and grindin off another R.Kelly jam at the drop of a dime.
That hatin **** n*gga aint see no gun. Point black period. If you know anything about Madison Square Garden then you would know AINT NO WAY anybody can get a gun in there. Two guns woulda went off in the security gates immediately regardless of how hard you try to hide them...it would even be more realistic if he said he saw people with **** or some sh*t....you can maybe sneak that in better than a gun....but a gun...come the fukk on
