How do you feel about junior greeks and what are the ones you know or were a part of? Do they give you any credibility when you pledge in college?

I'm in a organization run off of a certain sorority I won't say. But we've never called outselves "junior Greeks." And if anyone has said that then I musta been far away. We don't pledge, have line #s, take strolls or any of that cuz we're not Greeks so that'd just be disrespectful.

i used to be a Kudo back in High school and before Ididnt even know WHAT A FRATERNITY WAS let alon a SOROITY. After becoming a part of the orginazation it taught me a lot about how to act as a frat member and everything I should be aware of as a frat. So I believe its a great thing to be apart of. And for credictbility im a part of PHI DELTA KAPPA of th A CHI chapter :lol:

We just had a non-greek stepshow not to long ago at my school and several HS juinor greeks particapated. I am not sure how they are run but i was amazed at how a few of them were throwing up the actual Greek Orgs. signs and doing the calls. I was sitting there like Eek

but at the same time i thought aren't these kids taught by actual greeks? So why are they letting them do these things? Is it apart of what they are allowed to do? And i wont call any names but there is this one particular jr. greek org that really thinks they have 3 letters instead of two. They came to our party and tried to stand in the greek line. Lucky for them they were able to get in later because they were 18 but i couldnt believe it. Someone should also teach them not to wear nalia in the club especially if your going to act a fool! :roll:

We have highschool frats and sororities here in Alabama but I dont think they crazy enough to show up @ tha club with their gear on. When I was in highschool, alot of the guys were in Kappa League. Everyone that I know that were in Kappa League are Kappas. To me, personally, this was just something to waste time on the weekend and hangout with people that didnt go to your school. I know back home we use to have this stepshow for the highschool frats and sororities. My freshmen year in school, I went to a stepshow @ a PWI and there was this highschool sorority that stepped. The SGRhos showed those girls mad love so I guess as long they are not disrespectful in any kindda way.....let em do what they do.

At my high school there were Xinos and Kudos but everybody did not understand that this was an opportunity todo community service and gain a sense of compassion. I was a Xino and it was fun, the girls that were there before were my friends so everybody thought that they were stuck up. People were just not informed before they made assumptions about what was going on.

As a member of a junior Greek organization, I must say that I disagree with most of your point of views. As a member of the Mobile Kappa League(Elite #1 in the Nation), we have done several hours of community service in fact we have done more then some of the College Alumni Chapters down in Alabama(no offense). We go to church once a month, etc, and embody true brotherhood. We do have an induction process, line #'s, line names, and we do party trains and win 99% of the step competitions we are in. To be **** honest with you, we are a lot more active in the community and Greek life in general than most of the college frats down here, so for those who say that Kappa League is an excuse to hang out with people obviously has a lame chapter or does not know what they are talking about. While I must admit that most junior Greek orgs aren't doing anything in the community, I must admit a lot are, in fact, Mobile's junior greek life is thriving and it is a big part of high school and our community in general. Iota Kappa Psi, Sigma Phi Nu, Sigma Beta, Delteens, Kappa League, Mu Kappa Phi Music Fraternity, I'm telling you, its something serious. I think that if it were like this in all of your areas that your points of view on Junior Greeks would be severely changed. But that's just my two cents...

My opinion still wouldn't change. Back home we did community service through the Key Club, Junior Achievement, FBLA, even Mu Alpha Theta Honorary Math Society. The 4-H club was off the hook and boy let's not even talk about my church's youth club and youth choir. Heck, even the Boy and Girl Scouts were out helping the old people at the homes. There are PLENTY of ways to do community service. Greek life should be left to COLLEGE STUDENTS. For you to claim that your Kappa League does more for the community that the Alumni chapters is HIGHLY offensive. But that is the type of arrogance that is cultivated in 15 - 17 year olds through some of these clubs. I don't know what's going on around the nation, but I am glad that Alpha Phi Alpha does NOT endorse a junior club, as an organization. Join the chess club, play a sport, take a debutante to her Cotillion, Jabberwock or Fashionetta. That's what high school should be all about.
