I don't think Southern people be dissing up north music we just rep ours so hard yall think we dissing. A lot of us grew up on northern music so we have respect for it. It's like now we got something to rep cause for the longest, it was just West Coast & East Coast and no one from the south really was represented. Now for a change, we can represent. I never really heard anyone or any artist from the south dissing East Coast music. And just because it's different don't mean it's wrong. The north and the south are completely different places so we are gonna experience different things. This means that our stories and lyrics are gonna be different. Or you mad that Southern music is so popular now, or are you mad because you heard someone from the South dissing the East Coast and yall music?

ok i have 2 things 1 statement 1 question. i do notice that some people (mainly lil jon) may have some beats that sound the same ( freak a leak and yeah to be specific) but his beats do make u move when u in the mood to let it.
those two beats are SUPPOSED to sound the same, lil jon made the beat first for Petey Pablo but Usher got a hold of it first

She said Reggae..........let's not comment on that. you can definately blame that crunk music for the distinction of originality. Every artist got lil john and the eastside balls (LOL) screaming in the background. and they say he the best producer out there.

I can't understand why people say that lil john is the best producer out there? To ME his beats are a little too simple, but I guess they do what they are supposed to do, which is to get people crunk.

If I am not mistaken earlier hip hop such as Curtis Bow, Sugar Hill Gang, Slick Rick, Salt & Pepa, etc was simple lyrics and simple beats. Hip Hop is universal and reaches wide variety of people. You got your East Coast style, West coast style, Midwest Style, and Dirty south style. You got Asians & Arabians rapping their style. Just because it's not your style does not make it un-hip hop or rap, cause hip hop is universal. In the clubs down south we like to get crunk and let loose, so our words and music reflect that. I'm glad hip hop isn't just one thing or one sound. The best thing I could really tell you if you don't like southern rap don't listen to it.

^Nicca, Calm down. I wasn't even talking to you directly. I was making a generalized statement in response to other people's posts. Yuo read carefully. It's not that crucial. **You took some thought in your screen name.
