^You right, respect is giving when it is earned. I didn't know you had to be greek to know that you're not supposed to publicly display interest. Also, it's not just greeks being rude in these forums, so I was generally speaking. If you're not the one being rude, I wasn't referring to you. **Don't forget who is most high...

GDI is such an ignorant term.
What title do you suggest?
Quit being smart, I was just saying everytime I hear that term, I be like "Who cares?" What?! Just cause you got three Greek letters you're superior to me?

... WOW talk bout some hostility... I can understand where everybody is coming from , but I do know what laidback is talking about, many times there are people who come into this forum acting like they know every thing when they have no idea. I think that the majority of his disdain for and annoyance of GDI's (everyone is one at some point so its not that bad of a term, ignorant? maybe but hell its tradition... 8) ) comes from the questions that are redundant and have been answered 1000's of times...

The term GDI, isnt one meant to make one group feel subservient to another...or to place one superior to another. There often isnt any hate connected with the term when it is being used. Its just used to distinguish one group from another. And it has a ring to it. That's why we say GDI's instead of Got Damn individuals Remember key word being indivudiual... When dealing with people and subjects pertaining to Greek life people are referred to by the organizations in which they belong. If someone isnt apart of an organization, what do we refer to them as??? Honestly I think that the only problem non-greeks have with the term GDI, is the Got Damned part. If people said TSI's (those stupid individuals) or ANG's (another non greek) would there still be a problem??? Just a thought...

Actually, I'd toned down what it was that I was going to post. You said the term was ignorant and I asked what title you suggest.

Me too.

No It's not the letters. It's me that's superior in most cases. The letters represent an affiliation that adds an extra layer to it.

I can understand where LaidBackFella is....really I do...and as a GDI I can definitely feel where Megan is... My thing tho with the Greeks tho is, is it really necessary to be that arrogant??? " we have something they want and ill respond however i want and blah blah blah. " Granted, I get tired of the silly questions of " what should I pledge? " but some people really are ignorant to greek life and do not understand and know their is a correct protocal to researching information... Im not justifying those questions being asked, but for the Greeks on here, remember at one point in time, you were where she is sitting at right now...YOU may have known not to come out and just ask certain things, but its important to educate and clear any ignorances on her part so she knows better next time.

It might just be the frequency in which the same questions are asked over and over. Or the casual, nonchalant attitude with which those questions are asked? I am as nice as they come in regards to greek life, but it does tend to get very repetitive.
