Can you still feel like a man if you married a woman who made more money than you, or if you married a career woman who didnt make as much as you from the beginning, but climbed up the ladder of opportunity, got several promotions throughout the years and is now making more than you...and you are still making the same amount when yall first married.Would you be okay with it?? As men would you be comfortable with your wife being the breadwinner in the household???

I've actually experienced this (somewhat). Me and my g/f both had jobs last summer and she got paid quite a bit more than I did. I hate to say it but it did bug me a little, mostly because I had to pay for just about everything when she made way more money. Its all good though cuz I make way more money than her now :-D

Its a dang shame if your focus in a relationship is who is making/who has what. I dont care if my husband is a janitor and I'm a corprate executive. At the end of the day its not the money in bed keeping us warm...its each other

I dont know about that one...I mean I dont mind makin more money than him or him makin more than me...Either way doesnt bother me...but me an exec and him a janitor...It may sound ridiculous and maybe its my own pride, but I would rather him be unemployed looking for a really good job...then cleanin dirty bathrooms and buildings for a living. Granted a job is a job...but I just wouldnt feel comfortable with him having that job and Im professionally on a WHOLE notha level than him. I know peeps will disagree, but thats how I feel.

I understand girl...and everyone is not like me... But I look at it from the heart...I dont care what job you are trying to work. If my baby is trying to help support and take care of me then I dont care if they clean floors. At least they are trying to do for me and I would love them for that...

I personally don't like the mindset that salary=status. I think that the primary goal should be to ensure that our family lives comfortably. As long as that's being done, who cares which partner makes more? If I make less per year than my wife, why should that diminish my status within my household? Are my kids going to say "daddy wears ****"....? No. In most cases, people don't have the same profession as their spouse, so they're not going to make the same amount of money, and I don't think it matters who makes more than the other. An example of why I think salary shouldn't equal status is the fact that there are professions in this country which are drastically under/overpaid. If I'm an elementary school teacher and my wife is a lawyer for a tobacco corporation, should my concern be that she's making more than I am?
I agree with you 100%
