I think some people have too altruistic values when it comes to getting into a relationship and planning on sustaining it when you want to be "committed". It does take a roof over your head, because its a common place where the two of you can be together and see your true selves outside of the world. It takes money to have your own place, so thats also assuming you have a job, which would mean you have some sort of worth ethic. Of course you have to have a certain personality to be committed, but that comes along with getting to know a person. Once you believe you "fully" know them, you should look at the more practical aspects of keeping the relationship healthy and going.
