Well it does exsist, there are some bougie chapters out there, however I was using that as an extreme example of what could be used to deem a person "unfit".
Where are these bougie chapters? And don't say at "bougie" schools, b/c I know chapters at pretty prestigious institutions, both white ones and black ones, that are made up of sorors from all types of backgrounds.
Financial status and what your parents do prolly were factors in choosing someone in the past in certain chapters, but now virtually no chapter practices that and if some still do I would be very surprised.

I've only seen that happen on the graduate chapter level. Wherein, some sororities have a "family" chapter.
That type of discrimination occured at a few "elite" HBCUs in the past, but ever since our orgs have exploded onto most PWI's, that practice has been virtually eliminated.
