UPDATE: Incarcerated rapper Beanie Sigel recently donated money to boost the reward for information leading to the discovery of a missing Philadelphia woman. Philadelphia authorities recently revealed that the reward was upped from $10,000 to $100,000. Police are looking for Latoyia Figueroa, 25, a black woman who is five months pregnant and has been missing since July 18th. Reports say she vanished after a doctor's appointment. Figueroa also has a 7-year-old daughter. Close friends of Figueroa told the authorities the **** would not willingly leave her child.
Good for Beanie...I hope she comes back safe and sound...Sad situation, smh...

Like Thomas Hobbes said. No one cares. Deep down, the majority of us don't care. We are just scapegoating her for equality on T.V., which we feel is a strike back at the pale face. Hide behind the fact all you want, but it's true.
That statement was so idiotic. I care cause I know if it were my sister, cousin, or friend, I would want people talking about it and I would want it on the news worldwide if it could. Don't tell people what they do or don't care about.
If you truly cared, the topic would have not have swayed to media reform.

But u cant help but think about it. And because it's True (the white woman getting more attention). Because the media helps get people found. and if were not represented then that lessens the chances of people being found.

But NoBody wants to admit the core problem....white folks television is going to do what white folks television is expected to do..TAKE CARE OF THERE OWN.... when BET was black owned they rather put rap videos on than show a missing person...they had the oppotunity to do that...they failed, so don't get mad at white folks for doing what they been doing for the past centurird.......... EXPECT THAT, and demand change for black owned companies

they just did a piece about it on dateline lastnight.....combined the major tv networks like cbs, nc, fox,etc did more than 1000 minutes of airtime on missing white women while black missing females recieve about 15 seconds of mention if they get any at all.....they did a piece on a missing south carolina girl who even has a uncle (white) in congress....her aunt is also white and she said when she was callin all of the major networks they told her they were not interested or just did a snipit on it on the television.......if ur gonna do coverage on missing americans that includes all americans not just white americans....there is this lil asian girl missing and i have only seen one news network do coverage on her and that coverage was only 2 minutes....what does that say about our networks???

BET is not a news network. Just like MTV didn't show Lacey Peterson coverage.

Yea, I caught that. It explained exactly what I think the problem is. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8667821/ And John said something about having connections in the news media. Well this chick did and still didn't receieve coverage. Plus she is the niece of Desmond Howard, a famous football player.

It's ridiculous. I finally saw a "little" piece of a story about her on the news the other day..and it was indeed little. Probably wasn't even a mintue. They said a few words about it and that was that..smh
