Legacy or Not

My father crossed a GLO and I was looking into pledging the same thing. I really want to get in on my own Merit rather then using his name to "coast in" would it be more wise to go in as a legacy or to just not mention it. How would they know anyways? And If I decided I want to pledge another organization, would that be looked down on for not following my father's path?

I would be heart broken if my future daughter(s) did not pledge AKA. I would be intensely disappointed but then I guess I would know how my mother feels ((my mom is Zeta)) I wouldn't disown her though

[quote="Crazy4DST ^^ Exactly, I mean it's all about you and where you're heart is at...I could have went legacy like my mother and majority of the females in my family and pledged AKA but I would have only done that to please them. I mean don't get me wrong, my mother was not happy at all when I came in the crib sayin' OOO-OOOPPP( she actually thought I was joking)....but she did get over it because i'm still her child with or w/o my naila on.
You're an AKA legacy and you went DST? And ya lived to tell about it?! LOL!!!! Just playing. I am from a family full of elephants, er um I mean wonderful DST females. My aunt has been financial DST for 35 yrs and her daughert just went over AKA at Clemson. She was NOT happy with her. She wasn't happy with me either when I pledged but you are right, you must do what is in your heart and not what pleases others. If that's the case I should be a Zeta.

LOL! My younger sis is talking reckless too. The other night she gon say "Well there are other organizations you know, not just AKA" I said oh really?! That's news to me! LOL! She's talking about being a Zeta. Guess I can't complain too much since mom is one. But at least I have my lil sis to count on! She just turned 13 and is already throwing up her pinky and ivy!

****...and if they do come in the house wearing naila of another frat, What are you gonna do?? Theres nothing you can do about it. You may be disappointed with their decision to not follow the Que Psi Phi tradition..but you talk like you can really control what frat or soror your children decide to pledge.
