Is Marching Band a sport

Do any of you think that Marching Band should be considered a sport??
I am a Trombone player and low brass section leader(lieutenant) and I work my section with laps, pushups, situps, crunches, everything(and im the only girl lowbrasser, lol)...but for some reason some people think that Marching band people dont work that hard and dont consider it a sport...I believe that if a group is doing something that requires strenous practice, hard work and determination then it should be a sport...(just like cheerleading is now considered a sport, lol)

don't feel bad...u'll be at Howard next year...you'll witness ur first blowout...well Howard's f-ball team ****....you'll witness a few blow outs first hand.
