Now of course you all know that I'm a be headin' south soon...and I 've lived in Toledo, Ohio all my life. I know we got some southern folk on here, so my question is...WHAT SHOULD I EXECT WHEN MOVING DOWN SOUTH? I DONT WANT NO SUPRIZES lol, so dont hold nothin' back tell me straight up...remember I'm jus an OHIO BOY who aint SEEN NOTHIN' lolol

Well let me clean that up...cause there are a lot of sweeties down south. There's a large number of loud, aggressive guys... who are easily offended in the south. They refer to you as shawty, red, and babygirl and then they expect you to stop **** in the middle of your tracks and holla at them.

Hell no. Its way more subtle than the 1950's. The worse I've experienced was dirty looks from the men, and the women clutching on their purses. Of course, I'm like 6'1" 270lbs, so I wouldn't be surprised if I scared off some black women. There was this Black dude that got into an arguement with HPD, and they beat him unconsious and left him on a railroad track....and he got ran over and died. He was one of my old co-workers' boyfriend. The worse racists are those who have 'power' to do stuff, like the State Troopers, Sheriffs, and Police. The State Troopers are the worse. Me and my homeboy was coming back to Huntsville from Birmingham one night around 2am, in a VERY INFAMOUS AND RACIST part of Alabama. The sumbitch pulled us over and claimed we were going 93 in a 70 (probably true). I'm sitting in the backseat **** as hell (acting like I'm sleep), and he said this to my homeboy..."I could take you 'boys' to jail for blasting that loud garbage and going 30mph over the speed limit on my highway." I woke up then, and started tellin my homeboy he should come back down here and press charges. This **** put his hand on his gun and told me to shut up before he takes me to jail..... Needless to say, I lost a LOT of respect for southern white folks that night. These days, its like I feel like all of them are like that in a way. They all aren't like that, but I'm really defensive when it comes to white southern folks, especially the older ones. Just watch their actions.

Yea...that racism is er'where...but up north, it really irks you cause they will never acually walk up to you and say sumtin' stupid to you (see I could probaly deal wit that)...But when you walk through tha malls and through the stores you can jus feel em' watching you and whispering to there friends and sh!t lol...especially at the mall, I mean you could walk into Dillards and tha worker that greeted you at tha entrance would say goodbye to you as you walk out tha back of that mutha lol (they dont take they eyes on ya for a min!)

well...I've lived in the south my entire life...(Houston, Lafayette, Atlanta) 1) The only "slow" part of the south I've lived in was LaFayette, Louisiana...when I went to school there...they still used Corporal punishment lol...with a PADDLE 2) No, not everyone in the south has an extremely incomprehensible accent...atleast I don't...but some do... 3) Yes, we southerners tend to be more courteous than northerners...but you still have the rude and ignorant folks who act a fool in public... 4) I'm 99.9% sure you'll see a confederate flag during your tenure at AAMU...hell...some white folks down the street from me actually have a huge confederate flag ON A FLAG POLE in their backyard...the **** used to hold rallies at Stone Mountain park 10 minutes from me...and the further you get away from the major cities...the more OPENLY racist people you'll see...especially in Alabama and Mississippi :?...but just brush them off...if a crooked cop pulls you over just be obedient, don't get hostile, and go on about your way...their word will most likely be stronger than yours in the court of law...
