Okay lovely people of HBCU's here are my imputs on D.C, Howard and everything in between(if u care to know): D.C- * I'll have to un-learn how to properly drive because it seems no one knows how to drive *pedestrians dont stop at red lights i guess and walk slowly across on green *too too too much traffic everywhere *bold **** bums from D.C *houses that are conjoined and painted in extreme colors (whats that about?) *it'll take some adjusting Howard- *a tad bit unorganized especially when it came to financial aid time *beautiful people. honestly almost all the girls looked like models and a lot of attractive men also *loved the stores by howard. one i especially would love to shop at is up against the wall *a lil bit ghetto *i didnt talk to anybody which sucked. Overall- Im lookin forward to the experience, if anybody who reads this goes to Howard or will be going please respond with ur own views on the subject

Is the SAT II required just for the pre-O? I just recieved my letter telling me that I have been accepted to the distinguished scholar program and i will be at Howard from June 26-July the something. I was wondering has anyone else applied to that program and if so have you gotten in? Let me know about that pre-O thing as well because I havent gotten anything about that. Holla @ ya girl

The SAT II is shorter than the regular SAT especially if you're only going to take one test. When I took that mess, I signed up to take three. When I was there some people were leaving after the first test which is always writing. So if you really want to go to pre-o and it turns out that writing is required you could just take that one test. It'll be cheaper and you'll be out sooner than the rest. But it's just a suggestion. Thats funny. The only test I've ever done was the ACT and HU accepted that. That orientation letter, if I read it right, said that the english section of the SAT II was required as a english placement test and thats the first time I heard about that one. Anybody know if that's all on point info or if it's just somethin to do with the preorientation which I'm not going to.

Ummm...I only know about taking the SAT II because when I got my acceptance letter, from HU, I got the letter for the pre-orientation in it. Then when I called the school to get the registration form for the pre-O, I got this letter saying the SAT II is required so they can place me in my English class and I need to take the timed Math placement test online, alll before I attend the Pre-O. So that's how I found out about all of that. I just wish that somebody who go to howard now and went through all of this could just clear this whole mess up! 'cause it seems like we are all just confused. And in response to the SAT II being shorter than the SATs...I knew that...I just hate tests especially those supplied by the collegeboard (thatnks for the suggestion)....I just want to know why they don't use the score from the English section of our SATs.

U need to post this in the howard forum, because current students don't come in this forum often...

Okay you guys...... the SAT II is not required....don't even worry about it... I called and asked Mrs. Fletcher.... She said they are going to try and administer a diagnositcs (sp?) test during orientation in the fall.......she said some other stuff but I forgot lol sorry guys just know that you don't have to take it.....If I recall correctly I believe she said they don't even offer it anymore because of the new SAT and that writing part they added
