*sits in the lobby with everyone, looking around with a ball in his hand* Pretend you all were my best friends and I was dying in a hospital. Every day I feel the most excrutiating pain that I could popssibly ever go through, and you all see me sufferent day in and out. One day you come while the nurse is out and I ask, Please...Can you...pull the plug? Would you do it for me? Could you commit euthanasia on someone to end their suffering?

I have no well formed opinion of the black anger movement at the moment...isn't something you think about much. It does bring something else to mind though. I was having a conversation with an admissions counselor here and we were talking about how black people haven't preserved traditions like other cultures (i.e. Jews and Greeks). She commented that we should have fought for separate but equal rights...instead of just plain old equality. What do you all think about that?

Thats true, but Im saying do you think that That mentality is good for the impressionable college folks who will be our next leaders? Ive seen good white men and women get fired from the jobs they did best to put black people who arent qualified in that position just because of some stuff they heard from a ****-Prez concert. I do believe that we need to look more positively towards the future to create a positive effect, but is there something we can do about these people who come and make us seem like Kunta without a hope?

I feel that as young adults wew have the rigtht to choose our own agendas but in this point of time is when we're most vulnerable. We're more open to new things. So NO this isnt the best thing to be saying to college students who are trying to better themselves. They should have been praising the fact that so many of you are in college and inspiring you to continue on and set examples for future generations. They are taking a step backwards. Its like "Man we know about slavery but shut the hell up already and go to Devry or something" I feel that what their doing is making ppl feel bad for us and just letting us have jobs instead of qualifying for it. What good is that? I dont need your pitty I need you to realize I am an equal and can qualify on credentials and not b/c of demagraphics in your company.

Seperate but equal is never equal. Segregation only leads to the domination of one class over the other. Time has proven that fact to be true, because with seperation comes strange caste systems and anger and resentment that turns into **** and death and another revolution that would probably just land us back to Integration anyways. So I think we are better off doing it how we did. Besides, if everything was separate but equal, we would never learn from each others mistakes and become better people. I would never know different cultures and subgroups and be who I am today. What a crime thatd be, lol.

I'm stuck on that one...On one end I think black people in general would have more drive instead of relying on handouts. I think we would have worked harder to preserve our community and its traditions. While on the other end I agree that you would lack exposure to a lot of things.

I wouldnt do it... As far as the Anger Movement... whatever floats your boat... If gettin all riled up and angry helps u cope with oppression, I say "Go for it!!"

It didnt stop my dad from getting a great position where he worked or stop my mom from making almost 200k a year. What is the new fight for 2004?

I think we've been oppressed and are still recovering from that. I think oppression is an individual thing that reflects on the group. Its a vicious cycle that when you look at the big picture, only a few have escaped from.
