Mya definitely. I'm still listening to Moodring b/c it was so hot.
Pieces of a Dream (ya'll know NOTHING)
Chaka Khan
SADE
Angela Winbush (ya'll know NOTHING)
Fourplay (smooth jazz)
Kim Waters (more smooth jazz...too bad Grover Washington Jr. and George Howard are ****....)
Jade (the girls who sung "Dont Walk Away")
Jay Z (damn retirement....rap needs Jay desperately)
Too Short
UGK (get **** C outta jail)
Wu Tang Clan (yeah I said it..they need to do one to honor ODB, if for nothing else)
I dont know about some of these new female singers. It seems like everybody tries to target the same vibe or something. I wanna hear some "sing me to sleep" soulful, sultry, velvety stuff....like Sade, Angela Winbush, Anita Baker, Whitney (prior to 1993...Bodyguard and on back). Amel Larrieux and Alicia Keys are steps in the right direction.
Maybe I'm missing something...or maybe I'm too picky...I dunno. It just seems like everybody is too "pop" these days.
Donell Jones (last cd came out when i was like in the 6th grade!)
Christion (u kno they were on rocafella, had 1 song called "Full of Smoke)
Tank (he writes and produces great songs)
Link
Lyfe Jennings ( i know his cd is still hot right now but i just can't wait until his 2nd one. I know its gonna be crazy!!!!!)
Jill Scott (my girl!)
