HBCU Factoids!

In honor of black history month (and also to further my own pursuit of information to be turned into questions for my Honda team), I think we should use the days of February to post HBCU factoids. They don't have to be about your own school, and every bit of information helps. To begin I have two: Virginia State University was the first college for blacks to be state-supported. Wiley College was the first college for blacks found west of the Mississippi River. ADD ON!

Could you all QUIT hijacking my THREAD?!!?!? Anyway, back to HBCU Factoids: NC Central is the only HBCU with a bachelor degree in athletic training. Mary McCleod Bethune is a graduate of Scotia Seminary which is now . . (although barely) Barber-Scotia College.
Damn... you took mine. At any rate, North Carolina Central University has one of the best Law Schools in the nation for women (black, white, anything else...). One of the NBA's players with the most championships is Sam Jones, an NCCU graduate. He has ten championship rings and boasts one ring for being one of the 50 Greatest Men in basketball (Bill Russell has the most championships at 13). He's a member of the NBA Hall of Fame, and has been to five NBA All Star Games. In addition to being NCCU Alumni, Jones attended the first private school for blacks, Laurinburg Institute. Ronald McNair, the person North Carolina A&T State University's Engineering Department is named after, actually recieved his degree in Physics.
