i cant stand the south except atlanta and anywhere in florida. the only thing i like is the warmer weather cuz sometimes that snow is outta control up in detroit. i dont really count VA as the south though.not much difference from the north to me. no biggie.

I'm a little late on the post...But my 2 cents....The major thing to get used to is the ever so popular "southern hospitality"....I've been down here for college 3years from NY...and STILL people think I can be mean at times or that they thought i was this mean **** **** from jump...People are more open down here...Back home, cats are more on their own grind, and if ur tryna cross paths with someone, either to say "hi" or even just to look at them, cats will think u got an alterior motive on hand...
like i said, 3years and my sense of humor is still to "mean" or "sarcastic" for folks down here...people ask about how dangerous it is in the north and blah blah blah... back home u gotta find a reason to trust folks, down here folks gotta find a reason to distrust you...this can go on for days, but thats the bare basics....
stuff takes some gettin used to 'round here
