I've never worn a Police Uniform but I'd expect people to assume that I was one if were to wear it to the scene of a car accident or bank robbery.

Actually that's what you keyed in on as you are the one defending your posture.
The keyword is EXPECT as in having an accepted understanding of how I will be received, no matter how accurate or inaccurate, by people at the car accident.
What do you think is the accepted understanding that these females have of their reception at the club based on how they are dressed?
Does it matter?!? They obviously don't care so why should anyone else be concerned. Besides, this issue goes deeper than what meets the eye. It's a about RESPECT. Whether that PERSON has it for themselves or not, is not the point.

Yeah, because the people I've received a bad initial reaction from (pretty much older adults) thought I was an idiot. Which is definately not the case at all. And people have been really surprised at how I actually am once I actually hold a convo with them.

I could careless about what you think of a person when you first see them... Point is, you don't know them. I say that because i judge people and have been judged based on outward appearance. I also admit to being wrong about alot of people.
