basically i just want an honest opinion about the schools. im thinking about applying to those schools and more for fall of 2009 but i just want to get some insight into the schools. any tips about admissions? how are the professors, the classes, the people, the dorms, the social scene, etc. also just a couple pros and cons of the school. hope im not asking for much.i just wanna get to know more about the schools other than what i read or see on their websites.=]

Dr. King's sister) is a professor in that department. Rumor has it that psychology is the easiest major at Spelman, but the long theses these ladies have to write I would beg to differ. Class sizes are small, except for labs for the pre-med students, those tend to be larger. 4)The people at Spelman: Students: Friendly and open, the advice I give is you have to be a sister first to receive the sisterhood. If you come expecting everyone to kiss your behind like some girls, it won't happen. But if you come and you genuinely want to be there the whole school will open up to you. Professors: You can always talk to your professors on a professional and personal level. They care about our future and how we are doing in and out of school. Admin: Depends on who you know and the situation. Me personally, I love the Deans' Office, Admissions Office, and Study Abroad. Others do sometimes have attitudes, but they are in the minority. 5) Dorms: Like most hbcus most of the freshman dorms do not have a/c. However, if you apply and gain admission into the honor's program, you will stay in the dorm with a/c. Because we cannot pledge until sophomore year, our dorms are like our sororities. You have greek dorm names and colors, as well as dorm parties, stroll teams, etc. The biggest events of the year are: Morehouse-Spelman Homecoming (fashion show, rnb concert, hip-hop concert, football game, coronation-the dance, and tailgate) Pretty/Nasty- Omega Psi Phi and Kappa Alpha Psi greek party during homecoming Spelman-Morehouse Christmas Concert Freshman Stepshow And probates The social scene is pretty quite on campus we do most of our partying off campus and at local ATL clubs. If you need further help we have "A Day in Your Life At Spelman" in the fall for interested students with premed focuses. As well as "Spel-bound" in the Spring for accepted students. I definately recommend having a tour of each school. Best of wishes
