Should I approach a female as if she is a lady if she is dressed like this?

umm okay :???: just roll with the bunches But anyway, treat people how you want to be treated. I've made several valid points in this thread. How come you're still asking the same question?

For one I'm black. And I also have braids.

Were the preconceived notions a true reflection of who you were?
Yeah, because the people I've received a bad initial reaction from (pretty much older adults) thought I was an idiot. Which is definately not the case at all. And people have been really surprised at how I actually am once I actually hold a convo with them. But... you didn't answer my question :-) . Would you treat and/or have the same amount of respect for those men?
I'm about tired of you!!!! I thought i said my peace on that... maybe not. No matter what i think of a person, i will treat them with respect because that's what i was taught to do. Besides, it's not like i will have to involve myself with them.

I pretty much agree with PowerofWoman and AKA on this issue, but I understand what the dudes are saying, I dont completely agree with it, but some things I do. I think regardless of how a person acts or dresses we should all have a GENERAL RESPECT for everyone. Do I think I should get the same level of respect that a " ho " gets. No I dont...I think peoples level of respect for me should be much higher than that of a loose female. But because she is loose and doesnt respect herself, it doesnt mean it gives anyone else the right to disrespect her. A perfect example was yesterday afternoon. The local radio station hosted a pool party at my apt complex, and they had a **** shakin contest and the winner gets $250...well they kept uppin the ante to see how far the girls would go for some money and attention. Well by the time all was said and done, this one girl who is a FAMU student **** shaked **** **** **** for $600 in front of everybody. Of course everyone had something to say about it, including myself. Clearly if you are going to act as a ho, people gonna treat you like a ho? Is it fair? No. Is it a double standard? Yes, but thas life. UNFORTUNATELY...they exist...if you dont respect yourself no one else will. Ima be real...the girl that danced **** for $600...I respect her as another person, but I dont repect her in the sense of being a " lady " because a " lady " wouldnt act in that manner... People can only judge you on what you put out there...but like I said...because she may be loose or a ho...I dont think it gives any man or woman to treat her less than a person. Hell I may agree that she a ho with some dudes, but I dont think it gives any dude the right to be outright disrespectful to her and call her out her name to her face, and etc...But the way I feel...like PowerofWoman said, regardless of how a female carries herself...even if she is the most non classiest female out there...a real man still wouldnt disrespect her or treat her like a ho, because thats not a how real man would operate. He would have respect for her just cause she is a woman, but not the same respect he would have for a LADY....hopefully that made sense.

That's the Golden Rule.

Who else in this thread would say that they haven't as well?

Because I'm applying conditions and probing further based upon the opinions that you and others have shared.

Guys seem to go out of their way just to disrespect females like that. I think it tells a lot about his character. I'm not saying that you have to treat them like queens but everyone deserves a certain level of respect.
HELL NA'LL AIN'T NO WAY I'M RESPECTING SOMTHING LIKE THAT THEY ARE DRESSING LIKE THAT FOR A REASON AND IT'S ALL THE WRONG REASONS. THEY ARE DIRESPECTING EVERY BLACK WOMEN BECAUSE TO THE PUBLIC EYE PEOPLE WILL VEIW THEM AS HOES AND THEY MISREPRSENT WHAT A BLACK WOMEN REALLY IS AND WHAT THEY ARE ABOUT.

I would generally treat her like anybody else. I would treat her like a woman as far as being a gentlemen goes and I wouldn't demean her purposely. When it all comes down to it tho I'm not gone have honor for her like I do every other woman. If anything I'll feel sorry for her.
