....aiight, so I see people starting free posts all the time, I figure I can do it too. Only twist is, if you gon' post something......let it be intellectual (i.e nothing about a party, grad nite, or shout-outs) something tells me this post is gon' die quickly....... :roll: oh well, i gave it a shot!

Los Angeles is Mexico! i think we are only like 12% black. I dont know what its like for the rest of the country. Higher education should be free, like some of those European countries, but that would take a little bit more socialism, but we all know American nationalism and capitalism ain't tryin to have that!

SAT prep courses are not necessary to score high on the SAT. I scored a 1210 without any extra preparation other then what I already knew. Personally I think the problem with minority students and the SAT, along with other standardized tests, lies with the education and the amount of educational attention they get from their parents in the early developemental stage. White families generally take a waaaaaay more active role in their childrens education then those of black families and it shows. Sure you can argue that they should be recieving this knowledge from the school, but where does your true education begin....

It might not be necessary, but it sure helps. I agree that minority parents take less than an active roll in their child's education. However, some of that has to do with the fact that many minority parents work longer hour (for less pay), and let the school teachers babysit their child. Then again, some minority parents don't even have the necessary education to pass on to their child. The knowledge has to come from somewhere, whether it be the parents or the schools. I think the problem is that the parents are leaving it up to the schools and vise versa. But, I think it also depends on the social and economic status of the family. While there is always an exception to the rule, lower income parents (which usually indicates lower education) will most likely raise children that will fall into the same category. It's the cycle of capitalism....the richer stay rich by keeping the poor poor. As for the Mexicans taking over: It seems relatively easier for them to come (and stay) into this country illegally. Then, many companies hire them because they will work harder than many Americans for much less pay.
