most definitely. I'm going to take an AP class so I'm hoping that will raise my gpa more. Someone on the board said that because they were not so good at math and they tried the ACT and did better. I am weak at math so I'm going to try the ac
^^^You should probably make sure the school your applying to looks at weighted averages b4 u take an AP class b/c if it doesn't you might just be better takin a regular class and gettin a 90 or bettr than takin an AP and gettin an 85...Howard doesn't looks at your unweighted average and I'm kickin myslef now for takin all so many APs when i could've done much bettr in a regular class

rkfl2004: I'm confused. Did you mean that Howard doesn't look at the weighted gpa? Because you said that you didn't need to take so many APs and APs are on a weighted scale and regular classes are on the unweighted scale. If your unweighted gpa is better than your weighted, then wouldn't that be what HU would want to see? Or does HU prefer to see a student try challenging courses and get Bs rather than taking all regulars and getting straight As?

I'm '07 but I had to comment. lol. OH NAH! Dont take all regular course in hs... that's like ****. ALL colleges like to see you take honor and AP classes because it prepares you for college. You could make straight A's in all regular classes and have a 4.0 but you were not challenge; that's kind a frowned uponed. In addition to your GPA, colleges look at the rigor of your record. I would suggest AT LEAST take like maybe 1 AP course and a few honors... to prove to the admission ppl you will be able to handle college coursework, ya digg? As for the tests... TAKE THE ACT. lol. To me, the SAT was longer and tedious...too many damn sections. The ACT was more str8-forward and seemed easier; I did better on it. For Howard you only need a 26 on the ACT for the lowest scholarship. Good luck to ya'll appying for early action... that what I did and I'm on my way 2 HU! Best way to go.

>>Well over the years I've taken four honors courses. This year I could have had two and an AP. But I'm positive I'll be taking the AP class. So I have a question, I've taken Honors English since 10th grade and now that I'm going to be a senior my last english teacher gave me a C overall. I feel that because I've taken honors english classes for a while I should continue. I don't want the other schools thinking that I've slacked off. What should I do rescind my teacher's request or just move down a level?
