....aiight, so I see people starting free posts all the time, I figure I can do it too. Only twist is, if you gon' post something......let it be intellectual
(i.e nothing about a party, grad nite, or shout-outs)
something tells me this post is gon' die quickly....... oh well, i gave it a shot!
My friend said something that disturbed me the other day. He, a student at the Catholic University of America(in D.C.), said with a straight face "I would have never went to an HBCU because I want success". That comment blew me, but unfortunately in my near 20 years knowing him I wasn't suprised because this is the same guy who insists that I go back to relaxing my hair and says that he has got a tan and is now too dark to wear white like that. Anyway, i just shook my head and told him he needed to get rid of "that mentality"
I just dont understand how one can look at the achievements of schools like Howard, Morehouse, Spelman, Fisk and others and say that you can't be sucessful at a black college. Even where i attend, Bowie State University, which is not the best school but getting better, I KNOW college is what you make of it and I certainly plan to make the most out of it.
So basically my people, this free post is for the love of ALL our hbcu's...big and small. Be PROUD to be an hbcu student, i know I am
