What, if any information does anyone have about the Masons. I have done my research and everything seems cool, but I just need that reassurance from a group of people. So if you know anything please let me know. :?:

^^^Yeah, i had been hearing about alot of the similarities did a lil research and noticed some of that. Very interesting i must say. I'm gonna keep reading up. Knowledge is a beautiful thing.

Apparently my aunt is an Eastern Star. I've always heard my dad talking about her lodge, but it never clicked in my mind. How cool, she lives like 30 mins away. Does this make me a legacy?

^^^ Masons have lodeges, OES has chapters...and TECHNICALLY i dont think it makes u legacy, but many OES chapters really dont implement the legacy rule anymore. I heard some do, but alot dont anymore..But when it was implemented your a legacy if your the daughter or grandaughter of a Mason, or if your the daughter, step daughter, grand daughter, adopted daughter, lol..etc of a OES...But NOT being a legacy doesnt hold you back at all...It wasnt UNTIL after I was initiated into the Order that I found out I have Masonic linneage in my family...My grandfather and greatgrandfather were Masons...but I didnt know these things cause I really dont know my grandfather...long story. But yea...its open to any and everyone who DOESNT already have Masonic lineage.

I have been trying to become an OES for the past THREE years. The OES who going to help me out, I haven't heard anything fromher at all. I don't know what to do. I have stopped doing some research bcuz of health and other things, but I'm back on it now. Is there anyone who can further help me?

No need for the apology because I definitely understand where you are coming from. Its just that in retrospect, I see my story didn't do her justice because she is they type of woman that does everything for a reason and much like yourself is really against treating the Order like a sorority. Anyway, its all good, like i said i feel where u are coming from 100% lol. I'mma stop posting in here and let it sink to the bottom before some dork like ChangePlease comes up in here talking nonsense lol.

I wasn't even aware that they threw up signs. If so...i've never seen it done in a public arena. In my opinion, they are much less flamboyant with their interactions & gestures, as it pertains to their organization.

That's my point Blutifully Human. We DON"T throw up the signs of our heroines. Thats priviledged information and not to be used in any cotext except in our sessions and formal meetings. However, we do other not-so-public signs as a means of recognizing a superior officer and or sister/brother. They're done in public unbeknowst(sp) to the public.
