Right now...N.O. schools are out til December. (I'd just transfer or somethin) They have to get power, which is gonna take months. yeah I heard the same thing...it will cost too much to rebuild that entire city. Most of the levees surrounding the city have failed, and they would have to repair them...and even if they do, they still have to pump the water out. And by the time they do that, it will be around christmas. And even then, most of the buildings have sustained some structural damage. So yeah they're talkin about not rebuilding there...right now tho they'e evacuating the rest of the city since it's all about to be under water. So all those people who left...they're not gonna be able to return to NO anytime soon. They might as well just look for another city to live in. It's really sad man...

Damn man. Stuff like this is what makes me appreciate what I got man. The other day I was complaining to myself about how I'm SO ready to move out and on with my life away from home or whatever.... This type of stuff really puts things in perspective. It's a crying shame that so many people are suffering like this because of a natural disaster. I really feel bad now, seeing as how when I started this thread I named it "Goodbye New Orleans", now it may be a very real possibility. All of the loss of life, jobs, homes, and basically the whole city...it's got me a little shook up for real. The people who I really feel sorry for are the poor/less fortunate folks who dont know what they're going to do. :sad:
