Honestly, I only read the first few sentences of your post. I am not interested in your awards, accomplishments, extra-curricular activities, etc.
If you really want to go to U Penn then you need to put forth all your effort into getting accepted. Please dont come to Howard, Morehouse or any other school as a last resort. Despite your good grades you won't be doing us any favors by having us as your safety school.
If you truly do not have an interest in an HBCU you will only hurt yourself in the long run because you will end up transferring or going back home.

The **** alone in Philly would deter me from staying there, family or not. One thing I noticed about Philadelphians while I was there was that they LOVE Philly, I don't know why but they do! So I'm sure any of us telling you to leave Philly won't matter.
And I hope you aren't using "imsohotness" as your email address or have "basically the ghetto" on your resume!

You can be used to **** and not have "beef" with anybody but that doesn't exclude you from it. You can always be an innocent bystander. But anywho...if you're looking to get away from the "criminal element" then you'll be searching forever.
What do you plan to study while you're in school? Going to a "popular" HBCU won't do you any justice if that's the only reason you want to be there.
I'm not sure what you consider as being "far far away from Philly" but you have Cheney, Lincoln, Delaware State, Morgan State, Howard, Virginia Union & Virginia State all within 4 hrs. I may be missing a couple but that's just some to think about.

dang Truth...you seem kinda harsh...i didn't get the impression that he was using a HBCU as a last resort..guess thats just me...Anyways it def sounds like you could make it into an HBCU( at least into Howard)....Actually based on the Howard website with your 4.O GPA and your 29 ACT score it looks like you would even qualify for a Capstone Scholarship (tuition, fees and room). Also you have a REALLY impressive resume and a college counselor told me that colleges want to see that your a good student but also have interests outside of school and you DEF seem like you do....BUT if your really insecure about your test scores you could always take the SATs over again in October and still make Early Action..seems like you have a good chance to me....gl Steve

Which schools have the best science /medical programs where I'd be able to do internships, research, and hospital volunteer work during my undergrad years?
