Foundation to Raise Funds for 11 HBCUs
The Tom Joyner Foundation announced that it will raise money in 2008 for 11 historically black colleges and universities.
Tom Joyner, a nationally syndicated radio personality, will promote each institution as the “School of the Month” during his morning show. No fund-raising goal has been announced, but the foundation has raised $55-million for students at historically black colleges and universities.
The institutions this year are: Florida A&M University, Elizabeth City University, South Carolina State University, Albany State University, Rust College, St. Augustine College, Coppin State University, Meharry Medical College, Hampton University, and Morehouse College.
