My Extra Curricular Activities are: Track Cross Country Cheerleading Mock Trial - Captain Debate Team Show Choir NAACP and I Volunteer at the Special Olympics every year I want to major in either Philosophy or Sociology with a French Minor If I do very well on my ACT/SAT, do you think I have even the slightest chance of being accepted? ..I know my GPA is a little low. On a 4.0 scale... What do you think?

You seem like a well rounded individual. Therefore, I think you have a good chance, if you do well on your ACT or SAT. Good Luck!

Yes, you do have a chance of being offered acceptance. Your extra-curriculars are great! However, are you taking any AP courses or any other classes where you could possibly receive college credit? Do you hold any other leadership positions besides Mock Trial Captain? I see you want to minor in French...are you apart of the French club (if there is one at your school)? Also, Philosophy is a difficult subject to understand...what is your ultimate career goal? Are you working towards that goal now as a high school student?

Yes. Do a little prep work for the SAT (nothing elaborate, just get familiar with the format of the questions) and make sure your essay and recommendations are on point. You mentioned participating in NAACP and Special Olympics, see if you can get the chapter president or executive director to write a recommendation for you. You're involved in a lot of activities, which is a strength. Don't worry, you should be fine. Enjoy DC!

Yes, I'm taking AP courses. My weighted GPA should be around a 3.2. Besides Mock Trial Captain, the only other leadership position I hold is Treasurer in the NAACP. There is not French club at my school, but sometimes I stay after school to help Freshmen with their pronounciation, spelling and grammar in French - If that counts as an extra curricular activity. I'm considering a Philosophy major, but I'm leaning towards Sociology. After 4 years of one of the two, I plan to go to Law school (hence Mock Trial and the Debate Team). On a scale of 1-10, what do you think my chances are?
