Well they're going to look at your ACT/SAT's as well. Take a ACT or SAT prep class, try to do your very best on either one or even both (If you have to take them several times do that) try to raise and maintain your g.p.a. and stay very active and you should be fine.

You might wanna raise your GPA a lil bit, becuase the average freshamn GPA from last year was 3.6. But as long as you do well on either your ACT or SAT, you should be fine. You might also wanna take those test more than once becuase Spelman uses your superscore, which is the highest score of all the sets you send them. Good luck!

I want to go to Spelman and i have a 3.4 GPA. I got my scores back from the SAT and i got a 1380. I'm planning on taking them 2 more times. Spelman is my first choice and i really want to get in. I run track as well and i volunteer only because of this class i take in school which i volunteer during school hours. I wonder what are my chances are of getting in? I'm trying to get straight A's the rest of the school year.

Based upon your activities and GPA, I think you have a good chance at acceptance. It’s always a positive to be well rounded. Just remember to keep your GPA as high as possible and do your absolute best on the SAT or ACT. I know in Tennessee, they offer an ACT and SAT prep course in High School. If possible, I recommend taking the course ASAP. I took the course my JR in HS. Also, I use to review my practice tests with my Math and English teachers, which was beneficial. I am sure you will do an excellent job. More importantly, you should apply as early as possible. If you wait until the last minutes, it’s a lot harder to get into college, since they only have a few spots left. Therefore, they can be much more selective. Good Luck ladies!

Spelman will take your SAT scores. You should take a SAT prep class if it is available to you. In high school, I had a high GPA, I was very active, but my ACT was average, and I was accepted.
