I am interested in a particular sorority. I have been attending programs since last year, learning all that I can about the organization, doing community service and keeping my grades up. I do know that eventually I will have to formally express my interest to one of the members. I'm kinda friendly with some of them. I wouldn't go as far as to say that we're really good friends, just associates from class, etc. and we exchange small talk every now and then. With that said...
How do I formally express my interest without making myself look like a complete idiot? And what are some questions or phrases to stay away from in the conversation? Time is winding down and I need to act fast, but I am very nervous about it. Any advice is appreciated, from both greeks and non-greeks. And as always, if I have come off the wrong way with my post and have said anything disrespectful, then I apologize for my ignorance

The best way to formally express your interest is to ask around and talk to others who may be interested also.
Each campus/chapter and sorority is differnt and conducts things differently so there is no set "way". I know some girls at Howard who formally expressed their interest to members of a certain org and were hit with an PLETHORA of questions.
Main point: if you formally express your interest and they ask you why you're interested, you better have a DAYUM GOOD response!
