What do yall think of my top 5 list?

Spelman College- I've always wanted to go here. But it's out of state & pretty pricey.
Tennessee State University- It's in-state, sounds fun, but has a pretty sucky PARTY SCHOOL ONLY rep.
Fisk University- It's in-state, sounds sorta boring, but has a great rep.
Howard- It's super far from Memphis! But it sounds fun and it seems like a good school for learning.
Tuskegee- It's out of state, too. It seems like an un-interesting school, but it also seems like a great place to learn.
What do yall think? Is living out of state REALLY that hard? I'm sure I can get some scholarships, so money is not top-priority. I'm just worried about leaving home...
What's wrong with Tennessee State? They have a good reputation. I don't suggest people to go out of state for college. For one thing, you have to pay out of state tuition. Also, you might actually want to visit your family from time to time. People say that they want to move away from their family, but when you are a freshman you will tend to miss your family. I went to a school in my state, but it was kind of far away from my family. I did start to miss them. Anyway, I'm sure your state provides various scholarships for people who are enrolled in a state school. Just do your research and make a list of priorities and that should make it easier for you to make a decision.
I'm kind of worried about going out of state as well...but i feel like i need to get the full college experience and grow as a person...some of my friends go to Hampton University and are home every weekend or whenever...and when i see them....i'm like aren't you supposed to be at college 
lol...so yea i want to want to come home but can't because it would be 2-4 hour drive...idk thats just me

especially Howard and SpelmanI personally don't find anything wrong with TSU...my mama went there. But it's like, whenever somebody asks me where I wanna go, if I say TSU, everybody's like, "You're so smart! Why you wanna go there?" or "Pick something better"...It's frustrating. And nobody in my famiily (except my mother, and my cousin whose a freshman) has actually had the opportunity to go to college. So everybody is trying to push me to be the one to try something BIG! (My cousin's college is 30 minutes away).
And I'm a mama's girl. I miss my mama if I don't see her for three days! I don't know about leaving for a LONG TIME.
BUT...lol, I'm a very sociable person. I make friends everywhere and I'll be able to get along with anyone. So dealing with strangers daily won't bother me.
i can relate its just me and my mama in my house...i know i will miss her this time next year when i'm at college...

you're a sociable person so you will probably have so much fun gettin to know new people and seeing new things that you probably won't miss your mom as much as you think you will

. I've considered all of those schools except for tuskegee but for some reason can't narrow it down to 5 I have a top ten. Seems like Howard is on everybody's list though lol. And i can relate to the thing about going far from home because i stayed with my aunt in chicago for a month and bout had a nervous break down lol but at the same time hampton and norfolk state is too close to home.

I was 45mins-1hr from home and I had a GREAT college experience. You don't have to go home unless YOU want to! If you feel that you will want to be home every weekend, stay home! 
Going home that often defeats the purpose of going off to school, you might as well go to a community/technical college and live with your folks.
But back to the original question. Your top 5....besides the fact that you're missing a school (Claflin University), it's a good list. Unless the school has a bad educational rep, it should be considered. "Party Schools" will only distract you if you get caught up in the partying. Just keep focused on what the goal of being in school is...and that is to get that degree!
