Might Not Go To College Now

Omggggggggggg So I Get A Letter Back From The College Saying That I Put Myself As An Independent Student On My Fin. Aid But Im A Dependent Student...omggggggg And Its After The Deadline!! Can I Make The Change To Dependent?? Should I Just 4get Abt Life Now?? Im Scared...what Do I Do?

I'm not sure but don't count yourself out just yet. You just have to be extremely proactive. I'm sure you've called the school's financial aid by now, what do they suggest?

yeah well i called and i can change it and i did but noww my EFC number is out the roof high like 30K they're not gonna give me any money nowwwww!!!! and i dont think i made a mistake but idk

LISTEN TO ME: YOU CAN FIX IT...lol I actually had the opposite problem. I filed as dependent, but since I am a ward of the court I am legally indpendent. What you have to do is sign back into FAFSA, change your status, and then resend it back to your colleges. It will take a couple of days, but I guess its better than going to jail. But your EFC is 30,000? Thats bananas.
