I'm almost ready to launch the new forums but I need you guys feedback as to how you think the rep power should work? I have the post count implemented... But need your thoughts as to how this should really work, like do people get rep for posting popular threads? Points for lots of replies? It could also be applied to more than just the forums, could be also used for other parts of the site, like when you refer friends that sign up, or get lots of hits to your user page, etc.
Thoughts!?

I'm thinking it should remain as a "forums" feature and use referrals and user page hits to determine a "Featured Member of The Week/Month".
As for how rep power should work, I think it should be a combo of: number of replies, starting popular threads and if possible, contributing to various threads. Folk can have a million replies, but if they're all within one or two threads, it shouldn't count as much. When new people come in and see only one or two popular threads, they'll see it as a waste of time and go elsewhere....especially if those threads don't interest them.
Good feedback... Though I think rep power should be site wide the more I think about it. Integration is everything and I want folks to participate in more than just the forums when they come visit

Uhhh cuz you ain't me.
Tell you what, I'm gonna be nice and boost your rep a lil bit. But only this once cuz you're the "Big Bad Admin" and I like you....a little bit. Now don't take my kindness as a weakness.
Rep Power = 10 and two green boxes? Let's see what happens next...

I was two seconds away from clicking "I disapprove"
